Burkina Faso launches dɛmɛ sira platform to boost digital solidarity

The Burkina Faso government has taken a decisive step toward modernizing public social initiatives through digital innovation. On June 2, 2026, in Ouagadougou, authorities unveiled dɛmɛ sira, a groundbreaking digital platform designed to foster national solidarity by enabling citizens—both within the country and abroad—to actively participate in social and humanitarian efforts.

The launch ceremony, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Family and Social Solidarity, was led by Lieutenant-Colonel Passowendé Pélagie Kabré/Kaboré, while Dr. Aminata Zerbo/Sabané, Minister of Digital Transition, Posts, and Electronic Communications, served as the event’s honorary patron. The name dɛmɛ sira—which translates to ‘the path of solidarity’—reflects its mission: to create an accessible, transparent, and efficient channel for public contributions to vulnerable populations.

The platform is now live on the official website of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, marking a significant milestone in Burkina Faso’s broader strategy to integrate digital tools into governance and public service delivery.
