Morocco-France trade partnership hits €15 billion milestone
Addressing over 300 business leaders, investors, and public officials, Nicolas Forissier, France’s Minister of State for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, praised a bilateral relationship he described as ‘exceptional,’ built on a shared vision of international commerce.

The economic partnership between Morocco and France stands as a ‘model for the rest of Africa,’ declared Nicolas Forissier, France’s Minister of State for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, during the opening of the France-Morocco Economic Day in Paris. The event, organized by the Paris Île-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Royal Embassy of Morocco in France, brought together entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers.
The minister highlighted the ‘exceptional’ nature of the bilateral relationship, rooted in a shared commitment to international trade as a catalyst for growth and development. ‘Our two nations firmly believe that trade, when conducted fairly, creates mutually beneficial opportunities for our people and future generations,’ he emphasized.
Forissier pointed to the €15 billion in bilateral trade achieved in 2025—a record high that has doubled in less than a decade—as proof of this thriving partnership. This surge reflects France’s growing openness to Moroccan goods and the Kingdom’s accelerating industrialization, modernization, and economic diversification efforts.
The minister also spotlighted France’s dynamic investments in Morocco, citing the €600 million commitment by aerospace giant Safran to a new factory in Casablanca. Beyond trade and investment, he underscored the human dimension of the partnership, emphasizing skills development, knowledge sharing, youth mobility, and workforce training as critical pillars.
Looking ahead, Forissier stressed the need to deepen co-investments and cross-border ventures to further solidify the partnership’s foundations. He described the France-Morocco Economic Day as a pivotal platform for businesses on both sides of the Mediterranean, reinforcing the strategic alliance forged during President Emmanuel Macron’s state visit to Morocco in October 2024, at the invitation of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
The minister concluded by affirming that the partnership rests on a robust political relationship, which in today’s uncertain global landscape, serves as a stabilizing force. ‘Building poles of stability and resilient partnerships is essential to securing supply chains and creating opportunities for our businesses,’ he noted.
