In Rabat, Hicham Balaoui, the King’s Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation and head of the Public Prosecution Office, recently hosted Ousmane Abderamane Djougourou, Inspector General of Chad’s Independent Anti-Corruption Authority. This significant working session formed part of a visit aimed at understanding Morocco’s established expertise in both preventing and combating corruption.
During the discussions, Mr. Balaoui outlined the core components of Morocco’s anti-corruption framework. He highlighted the robust legal and institutional structures implemented, alongside the penal policy spearheaded by the Public Prosecution Office in this critical area. The dialogue also encompassed a comparative review of best practices in the global fight against corruption.
The Chadian delegation gained insights into several innovative initiatives spearheaded by the Public Prosecution Office. These included a dedicated direct telephone hotline for reporting incidents of corruption and embezzlement, as well as the advanced digital platform «e-TABLIGH». This secure online tool empowers citizens to confidentially report alleged acts of corruption, ensuring that all submissions are processed with the utmost security, leveraging state-of-the-art digital technologies.
