New appointments to Cameroon’s top judicial council
Cameroon’s President Paul Biya has issued a decree appointing new members to the Supreme Council of the Judiciary.
The head of state has renewed the mandates of ten out of fourteen members whose terms expired a year ago, extending their service for another five years. Only one notable change stands out: former member Ali Mamouda has been replaced by Goni Mariam, previously a substitute.
New appointees include former Public Service Minister Sali Dahirou, MPs Soppo Toute Marlyse from Wouri (RDPC) and Rolande Ngo Issi from Nyong and Kellé (PCRN), as well as former Vice-President of the Special Criminal Court Claude Francis Moukouri and Albert Ekono Nna, Engelbert Bengono, and Mekoulou.
