Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens has received a remarkable accolade for his stellar debut season at Manchester United. The 23-year-old Red Devils shot-stopper was voted Premier League Transfer of the Season, standing out among top contenders including João Pedro (Chelsea), Granit Xhaka (Sunderland), Rayan Cherki (Manchester City), Adrien Truffert (Bournemouth), Viktor Gyökeres (Arsenal), Antoine Semenyo (Manchester City), and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Leeds).
Purchased from Antwerp last summer for €21 million, Lammens quickly established himself as a key figure in the Premier League. Since making his first start in October against Sunderland, the young goalkeeper has been a fixture in the Manchester United lineup. His inaugural season saw him make 37 appearances, concede 45 goals, and secure eight clean sheets.
Praised by football legends
Renowned for his consistency and composure under pressure, Lammens has become a symbol of Manchester United’s resurgence, helping the club finish third in the Premier League.
The young Belgian has earned high praise from former Red Devils stars, including Rio Ferdinand, who recently hailed Lammens as a future great at Old Trafford: “He has been superb, and he is young. What I love about him is his youth—he will keep gaining experience and improving. I believe he is destined to remain at Manchester United for the next decade and will become the number one goalkeeper.”
While focused on his club commitments, Lammens is also set to compete in his first FIFA World Cup this summer. Though he will share the spotlight with veteran Thibaut Courtois in the Belgian squad, his future at both club and international level appears exceptionally bright.
