A new chapter has officially begun for Gabon’s business community. Following his election on June 12th as president of the Federation of Gabonese Enterprises (FEG), Alain-Claude Kouakoua formally inaugurated his Executive Board in Libreville this Thursday, July 9th, 2026. This revitalized team is now at the helm for the 2026-2029 term, armed with a clear mandate: to propel the national economy into a new era of modernization.

To successfully achieve these ambitious goals, the new president has assembled a formidable group of experienced professionals. The Executive Board will benefit from the strategic insights of two high-caliber advisors, Charles Tchen and Seydou Kane.

Alongside them, thirteen vice-presidents have been appointed to oversee critical sectors of the Gabonese economy. Notable appointments include Léod Paul Batolo, who now leads the Mining Industry, and Christophe Blanc, tasked with steering the vital oil and gas sector. Isabelle Essonghé takes charge of commerce and services, while Éric Boundono is set to champion entrepreneurship, innovation, and the digital economy. From healthcare to taxation, and extending to timber and logistics, every segment of economic activity now boasts dedicated leadership, poised to tackle competitiveness challenges effectively.

Competence and collegiality drive the new mandate

Far beyond a mere organizational chart, Alain-Claude Kouakoua underscored that these selections were based on rigorous criteria of competence, complementarity, and efficiency. The primary objective is to ensure a supremely cohesive direction for the Federation’s priorities. For the head of the employers’ association, the success of this three-year mandate will hinge on resolutely collegial governance, guided by responsibility, solidarity, and continuous dialogue.

This newly formed team is expected to commence work swiftly. Their mission includes streamlining interactions between the public and private sectors, while simultaneously guiding businesses through essential structural reforms aimed at enhancing the overall business climate.

Over sixty years of employer commitment

This transition marks another significant milestone in the institution’s rich history. Founded in September 1959 as UNIGABON, later becoming the Gabonese Employers’ Confederation (CPG), the organization adopted its current identity as FEG in October 2022. More than ever, the Federation stands as the indispensable bridge connecting businesses, public authorities, and international partners, maintaining an unwavering focus: to stimulate investment and foster the creation of future employment opportunities.
