PSG’s title triumph sparks heated banner war with Lens supporters
The evening saw Paris Saint-Germain clinch their 14th Ligue 1 title in dramatic fashion at Bollaert-Delelis Stadium, but the celebrations were overshadowed by a fierce exchange of banners between opposing fan groups.
The match at Stade Bollaert-Delelis marked the official crowning of PSG’s latest championship victory, yet the atmosphere crackled with tension as supporters of both clubs clashed through provocative messages.
Around 1,000 Parisian fans in the designated away section fired the first volley with a banner that read: ‘Lens champions? Give it up… go back to drinking.’ The jab at their rivals’ title hopes was met swiftly by Lens supporters in the Kop Nord, who retaliated with their own message targeting PSG’s ultras collective: ‘Frustrated you can’t drink in Qatar? CUP bastards.’
Lens supporters had already made their displeasure known earlier in the match, unfurling banners aimed at Ligue 1 authorities and club president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.
