Burkina Faso’s patriotic engagement caravan strengthens West African solidarity in Kumasi

As the 2nd edition of the Kumasi Patriotic Days approaches on November 28-29, 2025, in Ghana’s Ashanti Region, the Contribution du Peuple pour l’Éducation et la Santé (CPES) association has launched an unprecedented international initiative. This pioneering cross-border caravan, spanning November 27 to December 1, 2025, culminates in Kumasi, Ghana.

Dubbed the « National Patriotic Engagement Caravan (CNEP) », this significant journey aims to deepen the historical, cultural, and social bonds between Burkina Faso and Ghana. Following its earlier domestic legs through Ouaga-Pô and Ouaga-Bobo-Dioulasso, the caravan embarked from Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on November 27, 2025, successfully reaching Kumasi on November 28, 2025.

Through its strategic itinerary from Ouagadougou to Tamale and then Kumasi, the caravan’s core objective, as articulated by Kamanga Mathias Zida, Coordinator of the CPES association, is to invigorate patriotic commitment. It also seeks to harness the vital contributions of the Burkinabè diaspora towards the triumph of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP).

In Kumasi, Oumarou Kologo, the Consul General of Burkina Faso, along with his dedicated team, extended a warm reception to the delegation from Ouagadougou. This official welcome, marked by cordial exchanges, took place at the esteemed Burkina Faso House in Kumasi, symbolizing strong diplomatic ties.

« Diplomats for a day, diplomats forever. Today, you serve as diplomats, having journeyed from Faso to champion our national colors and bear witness that Burkina Faso endures, standing firm and resilient, » affirmed the Consul General.

Consul General Kologo also conveyed the consulate’s profound pleasure in hosting fellow Burkinabè on Ghanaian soil. « We are truly delighted to welcome you. We are extremely pleased that Kumasi was chosen for this significant event. Your visit brings us immense honor, » Kologo added, underscoring the mutual respect and camaraderie.

Echoing the Consul General’s sentiments, Adama Blaise Kiendrébéogo, the Delegate for Burkinabè in the Ashanti Region to the High Council of Burkinabè Abroad, extended his welcome to the delegation, notably greeting them as those arriving « as revolutionaries ».

Beyond the core events of the Kumasi Patriotic Days, caravan participants have scheduled a range of outreach activities. These include the distribution of specially designed stickers, t-shirts, and banners featuring the likenesses of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Faso, and his Ghanaian counterpart, John Dramani Mahama, promoting unity and leadership.

Further community engagement involves donating notebooks, also adorned with the images of both presidents, to schools in Kumasi and Tamale. Additionally, a crucial fundraising effort is planned to bolster the Patriotic Fund in Burkina Faso, demonstrating a commitment to national development and solidarity.
