Cameroon opens recruitment for 2,305 civil service positions in 2026

The government has officially launched the recruitment process for thousands of state jobs through a series of competitive exams and training programs.

For the upcoming 2026 fiscal year, the state of Cameroon is making 2,305 vacancies available across various government departments. Joseph LE, the Minister of the Public Service and Administrative Reform, initiated the process on June 4 by signing 36 decrees that outline the specific conditions for these entrance examinations. A detailed breakdown of the available slots has been provided to guide prospective candidates.

Standard recruitment efforts account for 890 of these positions. Within this category, 470 spots are allocated for direct competitive exams targeting specialists in financial services, agriculture, mining, civil engineering, livestock, telecommunications, and public health. Furthermore, 100 seats are reserved for training at the National Institute of Youth and Sports (INJS) and the National Centers for Youth and Sports (CENAJES). The National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM) will welcome 220 new recruits, while another 100 positions will be filled through selection tests.

Special recruitment initiatives, authorized by the Presidency for the education and health sectors, offer an additional 1,200 opportunities. This includes 1,000 spots for non-stipendiary students at the Higher Teacher Training Colleges (ENS) and the Higher Technical Teacher Training Colleges (ENSET). In the healthcare sector, 200 positions are open for specialist physicians, adding to the 920 health-related roles established earlier in April 2026. Candidates applying for teaching positions must specify their preferred educational institution and will sit for exams in the corresponding regional center.

Additionally, 215 positions are designated for internal professional advancement through specific competitive exams.

It is worth noting that the total number of available posts for 2026 reflects a decrease compared to the previous year. The government had opened 2,860 positions for the 2025 fiscal year, representing a reduction of 555 slots for the new recruitment cycle.
