In the embattled Lac Province, where recent Boko Haram assaults have left communities reeling, women have taken a bold stand. Under the banner of the Provincial Women’s Network, they gathered in Baga-Sola on May 22, 2026 to pledge unwavering support for the nation’s defense and security forces while urging collective action against the terrorist threat.
Strength in solidarity: women lead the charge
Led by the network’s president, Ms. Achta Adoum Abdoulaye, a delegation of women visited the Baga-Sola headquarters to meet with the Government Delegate for Lac Province, General Saleh Haggar Tidjani. Their mission was clear: to reinforce moral, logistical, and material backing for troops battling Boko Haram in the region.
Speaking on behalf of the women of Lac Province, Ms. Achta Adoum Abdoulaye commended the tireless efforts of both military and administrative authorities to curb insecurity and maintain stability. She forcefully condemned the terrorist attacks that have claimed the lives of several defense personnel, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the entire nation.
From words to action: tangible support for the troops
To transform their solidarity into concrete assistance, the delegation presented food supplies to the forces actively engaged in operations against the insurgents.
In response, General Saleh Haggar Tidjani praised the women’s display of patriotism, emphasizing the vital role women play in fostering community resilience, social cohesion, and the fight against violent extremism.
