Libreville, July 15, 2026 (Infos Gabon) – In a unique approach to governance, Gabon has brought together 150 provincial representatives for an immersive experience in the capital city. The initiative aims to demonstrate the government’s commitment to transparency and inclusive decision-making.
The provincial delegation was invited to participate in various infrastructure projects and engage with President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema on the results of their observations and national development prospects. This method of governance focuses on showcasing achievements through direct interaction, proximity, and practical action.
Receiving the provincial delegation at the Presidential Palace, President Oligui Nguema emphasized his commitment to a progressive, balanced, and inclusive transformation of the entire country. The issue of regional disparities in development remains a pressing challenge in Africa, with investments often concentrated in capital cities, leaving provinces with limited access to infrastructure and services.
The president’s vision for equitable distribution of resources highlights the importance of adapting investment strategies to local needs and priorities. For the Ogooué-Maritime province, this approach may lead to diversification into infrastructure, services, tourism, and blue economy sectors.
By fostering dialogue between provincial representatives and the President, Gabon is promoting a new model of governance that prioritizes listening, practical action, and transparency. This approach has the potential to increase the legitimacy and effectiveness of public institutions in Africa’s context where distrust towards institutions often hinders reform efforts.
