Gonçalo Ramos to AC Milan: where the €60m deal ranks among PSG’s biggest sales

Paris Saint-Germain is finalising one of the most significant outbound transfers in its history. The capital club has reached an agreement with AC Milan for Gonçalo Ramos, valued at around €60 million. This major operation will allow Parisians to record their second-largest sale ever, despite a slight loss: after a permanent signing for €65 million following a €20 million loan season, the Portuguese striker leaves Paris without fully justifying the investment.

Only Neymar stands above him in this ranking. Sold to Al-Hilal in summer 2023 for €90 million, the Brazilian had joined PSG six years earlier in the most expensive transfer in football history (€222 million paid to FC Barcelona). His Saudi adventure, however, quickly fizzled out: just seven appearances, with one goal and three assists.

Until now, no other Parisian sale had crossed the symbolic €50 million threshold. That spot belonged to Manuel Ugarte, transferred to Manchester United in the final hours of the summer 2024 transfer window for €50 million, only a year after his arrival from Sporting CP for €60 million. A sale ultimately well handled by PSG, as the Uruguayan midfielder still struggles to establish himself at Old Trafford, despite a statistically respectable first season (45 matches, 2 goals, 6 assists).

The permanent transfer of Xavi Simons also significantly boosted PSG’s coffers. Thanks to a particularly advantageous contractual arrangement, PSG received between €50 million and €80 million from the sale of the Dutch attacking midfielder to RB Leipzig, finalised during winter 2025. A few months later, Simons moved to Tottenham, where he became a key figure in the Spurs’ survival.

Ronaldinho stands as an exception

In the hierarchy of biggest Parisian sales, next come Marco Verratti, transferred to Al-Arabi for €45 million in 2023, and Gonçalo Guedes, sold to Valencia for €40 million. Behind them are David Luiz, who returned to Chelsea in 2016 for €35 million, and Ronaldinho, the only representative from the pre-QSI era in this top 20, sold to FC Barcelona for just over €30 million.

While waiting for Gonçalo Ramos’s departure to be officialised, another dossier could accelerate soon. Lee Kang-in, under contract until 2028, maintains solid market value. The South Korean international, with 50 caps and 10 goals for his country, is drawing persistent interest from Atlético de Madrid, which has been closely monitoring his situation for weeks.
