Jean Paul Ntsengue claims poverty is being weaponized to control Cameroon’s youth

Political analyst slams corrupt actors for exploiting national wealth and manipulating the younger generation

In a recent public statement, political analyst Jean Paul Ntsengue shared a grim assessment of the current social climate, asserting that the youth have been left hungry and vulnerable to manipulation. He pointed the finger at what he describes as irresponsible embezzlers of public funds and unscrupulous politicians driven by excessive ambition.

Poverty as a systemic threat to the Republic

According to the expert’s observations, the current state of destitution is not accidental but orchestrated. He argues that certain political figures and opportunists have intentionally worsened the economic conditions of Cameroonians. By doing so, they have created a desperate class of young people who can be easily swayed with empty promises in exchange for fanatical support, particularly across social media platforms.

Furthermore, Jean Paul Ntsengue claims these actors have systematically blocked competent individuals who could have assisted President Paul Biya in his governance. Instead, they have promoted mediocre loyalists to serve their own interests. He notes that this strategy aims to secure future influence by leveraging the suffering of the masses.

Despite these challenges, the analyst remains focused on the President’s ultimate legacy. He noted that Paul Biya aims to be remembered as the leader who brought democracy and prosperity to Cameroon. Jean Paul Ntsengue called for unwavering support for the Head of State during this final phase of his mandate, emphasizing that the current political maneuvers will not succeed because, eventually, all such schemes come to an end.
