Lisette Claudia Tame opens Denky agro-processing plant in Badenkop, Cameroon

Entrepreneur Lisette Claudia Tame has officially inaugurated a major agro-industrial facility in the western region of Cameroon, marking a new chapter in local food processing.

On Friday, 26 June 2026, the Denky plant was launched in the village of Badenkop, located in the Bangou subdivision of the Hauts-Plateaux department. The ceremony was presided over by two senior government officials: Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, Minister of Trade, and Gabriel Mbairobe, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. The plant is the third such facility built by Tame in less than two years across the country, and it was financed with support from BGFIBank Cameroun.

The Denky unit is dedicated to processing maize, sugar, plantain, and potatoes. With an annual processing capacity ranging from 5,200 to over 6,000 tonnes of local agricultural produce, the facility occupies a three-hectare site granted by the state. The project is expected to generate between 350 and more than 550 direct jobs, with a stated goal of curbing rural exodus and adding value to national agricultural output.

According to Tame, the venture aligns with Cameroon’s import-substitution policy and the objectives of the National Development Strategy 2030 (SND30). By transforming raw crops locally, the initiative aims to reduce reliance on imported food products while boosting the income of smallholder farmers in the region.
