Following an outstanding season with Bayern Munich and a brilliant start to the World Cup, Michael Olise has undeniably showcased his immense talent. This stellar performance has naturally caught the eye of Europe’s elite clubs, including Spanish giants Real Madrid. However, an undisclosed agreement between the Bavarian club and Real Madrid could ultimately prevent any potential transfer.

Michael Olise has made an incredibly strong impression early in the World Cup, solidifying his position as a crucial technical leader for the French national team. His remarkable displays have not gone unnoticed, particularly by Real Madrid, who were reportedly prepared to make the former Crystal Palace winger the subject of football’s most expensive transfer in history. Yet, these reports have been met with surprise by German journalist Christian Falk, who reveals the existence of a special understanding between Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid, and Herbert Hainer, president of Bayern Munich, concerning Olise.
A non-aggression agreement between Real and Bayern?
“Real Madrid would be keen to sign Michael Olise. However, it is incorrect to suggest they stand any chance of acquiring the Frenchman this summer. Real Madrid has publicly stated they have had no contact with either the winger or Bayern Munich, and I can provide some background details on this. The presidents of both clubs – Herbert Hainer of Bayern Munich and Florentino Pérez – share a very close relationship. They met for dinner during the Champions League quarterfinals in Madrid and Munich, and have since maintained strong ties. Hainer clearly communicated to his colleague and friend that Real Madrid had no prospect of signing Olise. In turn, Pérez also made it clear that the La Liga giants would not make any approach without first informing Hainer. Therefore, I am unsure where these rumors are originating from!” he stated, before continuing his insights.
“Real Madrid currently knows there is no chance”
“They have thus forged this transfer agreement – let’s call it the ‘presidential pact’! At present, Real Madrid understands there is no chance, even if they were to offer €300 million. Furthermore, the Spanish club is prepared to pause their pursuit if Bayern Munich is simply unwilling to sell Michael Olise. This is why the speculation surrounding this topic should really subside. It’s also important to note that he holds a long-term contract in Munich, extending until 2029. Consequently, Olise has no leverage to force a move, even if he desired one. However, it’s not even certain he wishes to change clubs,” Christian Falk further explained.
