The summer transfer window has been open for several weeks, and Olympique de Marseille is making headlines. The club is under scrutiny from UEFA and must sell players to avoid being banned from European competitions. While Mason Greenwood’s future dominates discussions, another key player could also be packing his bags.

After a disastrous season, no one at Marseille is safe. Missing out on Champions League qualification already forced OM to tighten their belt, but the need has become urgent after UEFA’s recent warning. New sporting director Grégory Lorenzi is working on all fronts to manage this crucial summer for the club.
Greenwood could leave OM
The first major case is well known: all eyes are on Mason Greenwood. Marseille’s top scorer for the past two seasons, the 24-year-old winger appears close to leaving, with Fenerbahçe and especially AS Roma interested. Italian media report advanced negotiations with the Roman club, but a recent chill has emerged. OM is reportedly unhappy with how Roma’s management contacted the player without first informing the club.
Højbjerg also on his way out?
While that situation drags on, another could soon be resolved. Atalanta wants to convince Pierre-Emile Højbjerg to leave Marseille. He is the top target of new sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, who previously tried to sign him for Juventus and now wants another chance. The door is not closed; in fact, OM has reportedly agreed to let the Danish international go, setting a minimum price of €10 million.
