João Neves, Willian Pacho and Marquinhos received the top ratings from fans.

Following PSG’s historic back-to-back Champions League victory in Budapest against Arsenal (1-1, 4-3 on penalties), over 15,000 fans rated the players’ performances. The ratings were generally more generous than the editorial team’s evaluations.

PSG manager Luis Enrique secured his third Champions League title and earned a 7.6 rating from fans—significantly higher than the editorial team’s 6.

João Neves emerged as the standout performer after the equalizing goal, dominating duels until the final whistle. Fans awarded him the highest rating of the match (7.2), a score echoed by the editorial team with a 7. Marquinhos (6.6) and Willian Pacho (6.6) rounded out the Parisian podium. Marquinhos also received a 7 from the editorial team, while Pacho was rated 6.

Defensive display wins praise

A strong defensive performance saw Achraf Hakimi (6.2) and Nuno Mendes (6) earn ratings of 6 or above from fans. However, the editorial team rated Nuno Mendes lower (4) due to his missed penalty in the shootout.

Mixed reactions for midfield and attack

Fabian Ruiz (5.8) was the lowest-rated Parisian player, likely reflecting a shaky start with multiple turnovers. Vitinha, despite cramping issues, earned a solid 6.4 from fans—well above the editorial team’s 5. Matveï Safonov, though rarely involved, impressed fans with a 6.2 rating compared to just 5 from reporters.

Up front, Désiré Doué (6.1), Ousmane Dembélé (6.1), and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (6.2) all outperformed the editorial ratings of 5. Kvaratskhelia’s contribution included earning the crucial penalty that leveled the score.

Arsenal’s ratings: Raya and Saliba shine

Arsenal’s average team rating from fans stood at 4.9, slightly below the editorial team’s 5. Fans were more lenient with Mosquera (4.4) and Trossard (4.4), both rated 3 by reporters. David Raya (6.1), William Saliba (5.9), and Kai Havertz (5.8)—the Gunners’ only goalscorer—were the most highly rated by fans, matching the editorial team’s scores. Conversely, Jurrien Timber (4.6), Viktor Gyökeres (4.2), Bukayo Saka (4.5), and Declan Rice (5.3) faced tougher evaluations. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta received the lowest rating (4.1) from fans, compared to 4 from the editorial team.
