André Luther Meka, the spokesperson for the Cameroon People’s Democratic Rally (RDPC), has expressed outrage over the French language proficiency of Mamadou Mota, the vice-president of the Movement for the Rebirth of Cameroon (MRC).
His reaction came after Mamadou Mota appeared on the program “La Vérité en face” on Equinoxe TV on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
In a post on social media, Meka wrote, “I followed the show ‘La Vérité en face’ on Equinoxe TV’s YouTube platform with great interest. I am outraged by Mamadou Mota’s massacre of the French language, his impertinence in morphosyntax and conceptual mastery. A true slaughter of the language of Ronsard and Lamartine. This is the height of mediocrity displayed last Sunday on the small screen. Good heavens!”
On Sunday, during the same program, Mamadou Mota defended the return of Maurice Kamto to the presidency of the MRC, despite internal dissent stirred by figures such as Willy Mengue.
