A vision for business success in Gabon
The second edition of the Gabon Economic Forum (GEF) commenced this Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Palais des Congrès. This major gathering serves as a strategic platform where international partners and domestic leaders converge to address the country’s most pressing economic challenges.
Alain Claude Kouakoua, the President of the Fédération des entreprises du Gabon (FEG), expressed a clear ambition for the future of the organization. He stated his desire for the FEG to be recognized not merely for its advocacy but for its direct contribution to the success of local businesses. Taking a pragmatic stance, Kouakoua noted that no nation can achieve true development without a foundation of powerful enterprises, describing the private sector as the primary engine of growth rather than a peripheral player.
Representing the government, Vice-President Hugues Alexandre Barro Chambrier highlighted the State’s unwavering support for private industry. He pledged that the administration would prioritize the health of public finances to ensure that debts owed to private firms are settled promptly. This commitment is part of a larger vision to build a more resilient and diversified economy, moving away from a reliance on raw materials and focusing heavily on industrialization.
This forum facilitates a vital dialogue aimed at aligning national interests with economic goals, ensuring a prosperous future for Gabon.
