Minister launches inclusive cultural initiative

Abakar Rozzi Téguil, Tchad’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Crafts, officially inaugurated the festival at N’Djamena’s Hilton roundabout, uniting artists, cultural stakeholders and government leaders in a shared vision of national harmony. The event drew enthusiastic crowds eager to embrace the nation’s rich musical heritage.

In his keynote address, the Minister highlighted how music serves as a unifying force, fostering dialogue and peaceful coexistence. He tied the initiative directly to President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno’s national cohesion agenda, positioning the festival as a cornerstone of cultural diplomacy and social integration.

« This year’s celebration breaks from tradition by prioritizing inclusion and community access. Music transcends borders and languages, making it the ideal tool to strengthen bonds, promote peace, and celebrate our shared identity », the Minister stated.

A nationwide movement for unity and creativity

Highlighting the festival’s decentralized approach, the Ministry announced a month-long musical tour spanning all ten districts of N’Djamena and extending into rural provinces. Free public concerts, interactive workshops and impromptu jam sessions will transform city squares and village gathering places into stages of cultural exchange.

« Music belongs to everyone — not just concert halls. Our goal is to reach every community, every family, and every individual, using melodies to reinforce values of solidarity, respect, and national pride », the Minister emphasized.

Cultural celebration with economic promise

Festival organizers view this edition as more than a cultural highlight; it’s a strategic investment in Tchad’s creative economy. By spotlighting local artists and traditional genres, the event aims to boost tourism, create jobs for young creators, and position the country’s music scene on the regional stage.

The festival’s programming will feature traditional Tchadian instruments, contemporary fusion bands, and storytelling through song, offering a platform for both established names and emerging voices. With preparations underway, anticipation is building across the nation for a celebration that promises to resonate far beyond its closing note.
