Strengthening its network across Morocco, Uber has announced its official launch in Tanger and Agadir. This strategic move is designed to support the country’s booming tourism industry and builds upon the ride-hailing services already established in Casablanca and Rabat. The expansion aligns with Morocco’s status as a premier regional travel hub, especially as the nation prepares to host the 2030 World Cup.
To keep pace with the rising number of international arrivals—as Morocco targets 26 million visitors by 2030—Uber is committing to providing safe, reliable, and convenient mobility. The objective is to elevate the overall travel experience, ensuring that visitors can move effortlessly from their hotels to various points of interest and explore urban centers with ease.
Enhanced mobility for growing demand
By bringing its platform to Agadir and Tanger, Uber aims to meet the increasing need for dependable transport solutions that simplify travel across the kingdom. In both coastal cities, users can now book rides through the mobile app, with options including UberX and UberXL, matching the service standards already found in the capital and the economic heart of the country.
The timing of this expansion follows a period of record-breaking performance for the Moroccan tourism sector. In 2025, the country welcomed 19.8 million tourists, representing a 14% jump from the year before. This growth translated into 124 billion dirhams in revenue between January and November. The upward trend has persisted into 2026, with the first quarter recording 4.3 million visitors, a 7% increase compared to the same timeframe in the previous year.
