The United Kingdom views Morocco as a land of opportunities and is actively pursuing a deeper strategic partnership with the North African nation. During a visit to Rabat by UK Minister of State for Trade Chris Bryant, both governments reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic and political ties.
At a joint press conference with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, Mr. Bryant announced that bilateral trade currently stands at approximately £4.5 billion and expressed London’s ambition to double this volume within the next five to seven years.
Beyond trade, the two nations are exploring collaboration on major sporting events, including Morocco’s co-hosting of the 2030 FIFA World Cup. Mr. Bryant, accompanied by over fifty UK-based companies specializing in sports event management, attended the Morocco-UK Business Forum held in Rabat on June 2-3, 2026.
During the visit, officials also convened the fourth session of the Morocco-United Kingdom Association Council, further solidifying the framework for future cooperation.
