World vision Chad unveils bold 2030 strategy to transform children’s lives

N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad has officially unveiled its groundbreaking 2026-2030 national strategy, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to transforming the lives of children across the nation. The launch event, held on July 9, 2026, brought together media representatives, technical and financial partners, as well as national authorities at the Residence Hotel in N’Djamena.

Through this ambitious roadmap, the organization aims to directly impact the lives of 3.29 million children by 2030, including 3.09 million from the most vulnerable communities. The strategy focuses on five critical pillars: health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience, all designed to create lasting change.

a vision rooted in innovation and partnership

During the event, Carla Dominique Denizard, World Vision’s Regional Director for West Africa based in Dakar, described the strategy as both audacious and transformative. She emphasized its foundation in the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus, a holistic approach that bridges emergency relief with sustainable development and peacebuilding initiatives.

« Every child in Chad deserves not just to survive, but to thrive, » she stated. « This vision becomes reality through strong partnerships, community engagement, and the integration of local cultural and spiritual values. »

Denizard highlighted that West and Central Africa remain among the world’s most fragile regions, facing persistent challenges including insecurity, multidimensional poverty, climate change impacts, and mass displacement. In response, World Vision’s strategy combines humanitarian aid, sustainable development, and peace consolidation to create resilient communities.

The strategy is fully aligned with Chad’s Vision 2030 and the African Union’s Agenda 2063, while contributing to multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16). Key focus areas include:

• Human capital development through improved access to quality education and vocational training
• Social protection systems to safeguard vulnerable populations
• Climate adaptation initiatives to build community resilience
• Child literacy programs like Unlock Literacy to enhance early learning
• Child protection measures against violence, exploitation, and abuse

Chad’s children at the heart of transformation

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, called the launch a historic moment for the organization and the future of Chad’s children. « This strategy represents a 20% increase in our ambitions compared to previous cycles, » he noted. « Our goal is clear: to ensure that every child in Chad not only survives but thrives by 2030. »

He underscored the severe challenges facing the country, where nearly 42% of the population lives below the poverty line, compounded by recurring humanitarian crises and climate-related disasters. « We cannot afford to wait, » Wangoy stressed. « The time for action is now. »

The strategy prioritizes integrated health and nutrition services with a special focus on maternal and child health, expanded education through the Unlock Literacy program, comprehensive child protection systems, and community-based climate resilience projects.

Following the presentation, World Vision Tchad’s leadership issued a powerful call to action, urging all national stakeholders—government authorities, technical and financial partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and media—to join forces in implementing this vision. « Transforming current challenges into sustainable opportunities for children requires nothing less than a unified national effort, » they emphasized.

By 2030, World Vision Tchad aims to contribute significantly to the nation’s Vision 2030 and global SDG targets, working toward a future where every child is protected, nourished, educated, and empowered to reach their full potential.
