From the bustling streets of Dakar to the serene island of Gorée, and stretching along the airport highway to remote rural villages, solar streetlights now illuminate every corner of Senegal. This transformation is largely driven by two pioneering French firms: Ragni, a family-owned business from the Alpes-Maritimes region, and Fonroche, a mid-sized company headquartered in Agen. Together, they represent just a fraction of the 340 French enterprises operating across the country today.
While industry titans like Orange, TotalEnergies, Auchan, and Eiffage have long established themselves in West Africa, smaller French businesses are discovering fresh avenues for expansion in this dynamic market. Their presence underscores Senegal‘s appeal as a hub for innovation and sustainable development.
