Ivory Coast Prime Minister rallies investors for 2030 development plan
The second day of the National Development Plan (NDP) 2026-2030 Consultative Group convened in Abidjan, bringing together over 700 investors from friendly nations to bolster the nation’s economic future.
The high-profile event, held on July 9, 2026, at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, was led by Ivory Coast’s Prime Minister, Robert Beugré Mambé. Addressing a gathering of business leaders and private sector stakeholders, he highlighted the critical role of private investment in driving the country’s ambitious growth agenda.
Strengthening private sector partnerships for economic transformation
Prime Minister Mambé emphasized that the government’s strategy hinges on fostering strong ties with the private sector to accelerate Ivory Coast’s economic transformation. With a track record of resilience—averaging 6.5% annual growth over recent years—the nation stands out as one of Africa’s fastest-growing economies.
« This gathering represents a pivotal step in our collective journey to mobilize the private investments essential for realizing the NDP 2026-2030. Your presence here underscores the confidence you place in Ivory Coast’s economic potential and its capacity for sustainable growth, » he stated.
He further stressed that the private sector will serve as the backbone of Ivory Coast’s economic modernization, driving job creation and value addition through industrialization, infrastructure development, and human capital investment.
Key sectors identified for accelerated investment include:
- Local processing of raw materials to enhance value addition
- Strategic infrastructure, including transport, digital technology, and logistics
- Human capital development, innovation, and essential services
Global investors reaffirm commitment to Ivory Coast’s growth
The event also saw prominent business figures from across Africa and beyond pledge their support. Leaders from the General Confederation of Enterprises of Ivory Coast (CGECI), MEDEF Africa, Morocco’s General Confederation of Enterprises (CGEM), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) reaffirmed their alignment with Ivory Coast’s development vision.
« We are fully prepared to contribute meaningfully to the NDP 2026-2030 through substantial financial commitments, » they affirmed.
This follows the first day of the Consultative Group, which attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, underscoring the international community’s keen interest in Ivory Coast’s economic prospects.
A platform for shared prosperity
For Prime Minister Mambé, the Consultative Group is more than a forum—it is a catalyst for collaboration. By uniting policymakers and private sector leaders, the initiative aims to unlock new opportunities, foster innovation, and ensure that Ivory Coast’s growth is both inclusive and sustainable.
The Prime Minister concluded by urging investors to seize the moment, describing the current environment as « one of the continent’s most dynamic markets, ripe for partnership and investment. »
