Addressing participants at the meeting focused on child soldiers in Africa, Morocco highlighted the urgent need to tackle the root causes that push minors into armed groups, emphasizing prevention as a cornerstone of long-term solutions. Officials stressed that children remain disproportionately vulnerable in conflict zones, facing threats such as forced recruitment, physical harm, and interrupted education—each of which jeopardizes their prospects for a stable future.
