Tottenham Hotspur secures Andy Robertson in Premier League switch
Tottenham Hotspur have finalized an agreement with Andy Robertson, bringing the experienced left-back to North London for the upcoming season. The 32-year-old, whose contract at Liverpool had expired, has reportedly reached a personal deal with Spurs after weeks of speculation surrounding his future.
The move marks the end of Robertson’s nine-year tenure at Liverpool, where he established himself as one of the club’s most influential defenders. His departure was met with an emotional farewell from the Anfield faithful during the final Premier League match of the season.
Recruited from Hull City for around €9 million in the summer of 2017, Robertson went on to make 378 official appearances for Liverpool, underscoring the club’s astute investment. His leadership at the back and unwavering consistency made him a fan favorite and a key figure in the Reds’ recent successes.
Tottenham’s decision to secure Robertson comes after a dramatic final-day Premier League victory over Everton, which secured their top-flight status and allowed them to leapfrog West Ham in the standings. The club’s new signing arrives with a proven track record, both domestically and on the international stage.
As a Scotland international, Robertson has amassed 92 caps to date and is expected to feature prominently in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
