
On July 9, the General Assembly commenced with a solemn opening session, graced by a multitude of distinguished personalities. Notable attendees included the President of the Cameroonian Senate, the President of the Cameroonian National Assembly, and the President of the Cameroonian Economic and Social Council. Louise Mushikiwabo, the Secretary-General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), was also present. The event drew over 350 delegates, among whom were nearly 20 presidents and vice-presidents from various APF member parliaments, representatives from the International Organisation of La Francophonie, diplomatic missions, and other international organizations.
The 51st General Assembly of the Francophone Parliamentary Assembly (APF) has established an agenda focused on key global priorities. These discussions are centered on crucial areas such as political governance, democratic advancement, economic strategies, social welfare, cultural exchange, and environmental protection. The overarching aim is to foster stronger parliamentary cooperation and jointly develop effective solutions to the shared challenges facing the entire Francophone community.
