Amadou Ba unveils alleged sonko-touré phone call details

A Pastef deputy asserts that the former Prime Minister made highly critical remarks about Bassirou Diomaye Faye during a phone conversation.
During a recent press briefing organized by Pastef-Les Patriotes, Deputy Amadou Ba offered what he described as the definitive “truth” regarding alleged telephone exchanges between Ousmane Sonko and Aminata Touré. These conversations reportedly took place while the current Prime Minister, Sonko, was incarcerated. Ba’s disclosure emerges amidst ongoing political debate, further bolstering his defense of the government leader concerning public funds management.
The deputy claimed that during one of these calls, the former Prime Minister, Aminata Touré, voiced strong disapproval of Bassirou Diomaye Faye. “Diomaye is incapable of leading this country. If you leave him here, he will not last two years,” Touré allegedly conveyed to Ousmane Sonko, according to Ba’s account.
Amadou Ba highlighted that such a statement is now difficult to reconcile with Aminata Touré’s current political positions. He accused her of attempting to “change history” and retrospectively alter past events to align with shifting political dynamics and power balances.
Despite the escalating verbal clashes between the opposing political factions, Amadou Ba advocated for moderation, urging against further escalation. “He pushes us towards violence, and we will not succumb,” Ba declared, emphasizing Pastef’s commitment to fostering political discourse rather than engaging in direct confrontation.
