Barcelona president joan laporta addresses ferran torres’s psg transfer rumours

Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly eyeing Ferran Torres to fill the void left by Gonçalo Ramos, who departed for AC Milan on June 30. Speaking from Dallas ahead of the World Cup semi-final showdown between France and Spain, FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta offered his perspective on the future of his forward.

After three dedicated seasons with PSG, Gonçalo Ramos sought a new challenge. The Portuguese international completed his transfer to AC Milan for approximately €74 million on June 30.

“We haven’t had confirmation yet”

Now without Gonçalo Ramos, PSG is reportedly keen on securing a new central striker. The club, led by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, has reportedly identified Ferran Torres as a prime target. Torres is currently under contract with FC Barcelona until June 30, 2027. There have been reports suggesting that PSG has already reached a preliminary agreement with the Spanish international for a five-year deal. But what is the official stance of FC Barcelona on these developments?

“He is an FC Barcelona player”

During his visit to Dallas, prior to the highly anticipated World Cup semi-final featuring France against Spain, Joan Laporta addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding Ferran Torres. “A transfer of Ferran Torres to PSG?” Laporta began. “I have certainly heard about this, but we haven’t had confirmation yet. He is an FC Barcelona player, one of the 14 players we have here. Ferran is also performing exceptionally well. Every time he steps onto the pitch, he proves to be very dangerous. His pass to Merino, for instance, was absolutely incredible. Regardless, we have many excellent footballers participating in the World Cup here, and that is precisely why I am present.”
