Ivory coast prime minister rallies investors for 2026 development plan

The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, focused on investors, kicked off on July 9, 2026, in Abidjan at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, under the leadership of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé.

Addressing a gathering of more than 700 investors from friendly nations, the Prime Minister underscored this session as a pivotal moment to harness private capital for driving economic transformation. « This marks a fresh phase in our consultative framework, centered on investment, enterprise, and value creation, » he emphasized. « The strong turnout today reflects the confidence global investors place in Côte d’Ivoire’s growth trajectory. »

The event brought together business leaders, private sector delegates, and investors who traveled to Abidjan to engage in high-level discussions. According to the Prime Minister, these exchanges are not just dialogues but strategic steps toward aligning public and private visions for a shared development agenda.

Robert Beugré Mambé highlighted the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic advancement. « Your presence here today is a testament to your belief in our nation’s economic potential and its capacity for sustainable growth, » he stated. « Together, we can build a more competitive and job-creating economy, provided the private sector steps up with bold investments. »

The Prime Minister reassured attendees that Côte d’Ivoire’s economy—recognized for its resilience and adaptability—has consistently achieved an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years, securing its status as one of Africa’s most vibrant markets. « This is a market brimming with opportunities, and today’s discussions will catalyze investments in key sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030, » he added.

Key focus areas for investment include industrialization and local processing of raw materials to enhance value addition, the development of critical infrastructure such as transport, digital networks, and logistics to boost competitiveness, and investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services to foster a more productive and inclusive economy.

The Prime Minister also noted that the first day of the Consultative Group, dedicated to institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, drew over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including local stakeholders. This turnout set a strong foundation for the ongoing engagement with international investors.

In response, leaders from prominent business organizations reaffirmed their support for Côte d’Ivoire’s development vision. Ahmed Cissé, President of the Confédération générale des Entreprises de Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), along with Mehdi Tazi of the Confédération générale des Entreprises du Maroc (CGEM), and Mohamed Gouled of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), expressed their readiness to commit significant financial resources to the PND 2026-2030 initiative.
