Khadre spiritual leader serigne khalifa kounta endorses ousmane sonko in ndiassane

Addressing the President of the National Assembly, Serigne Khalifa Kounta notably declared: « Ndongo daara le, arabisan le, ku mokeul alxour ane le ».
Serigne Khalifa Kounta, the esteemed spokesperson for the Khadre brotherhood, expressed profound admiration for Ousmane Sonko during a recent visit. The President of the National Assembly was present in Ndiassane as part of the preparations for the upcoming Gamou festivities, scheduled for Tuesday, September 1st.
During his address to the President of the National Assembly, Serigne Khalifa Kounta conveyed a significant message: « Ndongo daara le, arabisan le, ku mokeul alxourane le ». This Wolof phrase translates to an assertion that the President of the National Assembly is an “enfant de daara” – a product of the traditional Quranic educational system. This background is considered a profound source of honor and pride within the broader educational and religious community.
Khadre brotherhood’s endorsement of Sonko
“This is a source of immense pride for us, the doumou daara,” Serigne Khalifa Kounta further affirmed. His words underscored the deep connection and allegiance the Khadre brotherhood feels towards Ousmane Sonko, recognizing his journey and achievements.
This public declaration of support follows a notably warm reception extended to Ousmane Sonko in Ndiassane. He was previously welcomed by the general khalife of the Khadres, Serigne Sidy Mahtar Kounta, alongside his spokesperson, marking a significant moment of recognition within the spiritual leadership.
