The Nigerien government has taken a pivotal step towards hosting the “Investir au Niger” forum, scheduled from November 24 to 26, 2026. Officials have formally established the committee tasked with spearheading its preparations, entrusting it with the crucial mission of transforming the event into a premier showcase of the nation’s economic potential for both domestic and international investors.
The countdown has officially begun. In Niamey, authorities have constituted and installed the ad hoc committee responsible for organizing the international “Investir au Niger” forum. Addressing the newly formed committee members, Mr. Abdoulaye Seydou, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, immediately underscored the profound significance of this gathering for Niger’s economic future.

The forum is designed primarily as a platform to highlight investment opportunities across several critical sectors vital for national development. According to the minister, Niger possesses immense economic potential, and it is now incumbent upon the authorities to harness this by establishing conditions that reassure, attract, and facilitate both national and international capital.
“Niger holds vast economic potential; it is up to the authorities to create the conditions to reassure, attract, and support investments.” – M. Abdoulaye Seydou, Minister of Commerce and Industry
A call for diligence and collaboration
The minister subsequently urged the committee members to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, strictly adhere to deadlines, and foster perfect synergy among all involved stakeholders. This directive aims to ensure the success of an event whose ambition extends beyond national borders; the forum is set to welcome several guest countries of honor, including Turkey, China, and Russia, alongside special invitees from across Africa and beyond.

Broad diplomatic engagement
Alongside the distinguished guest countries of honor, delegations from Burkina Faso and Mali, partners of Niger within the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), are expected to attend. They will be joined by representatives from Togo, Ghana, Chad, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, India, and Saudi Arabia, underscoring the forum’s wide international appeal.
Four sub-commissions for structured oversight
The ad hoc committee comprises experts from various sectoral ministries and professional bodies. It is organized into three specialized sub-commissions, each with a distinct mandate:
-
Scientific affairs
-
Logistics, exhibition, protocol, and security
-
Communication and institutional coordination
The extensive mission assigned to this committee includes defining the event’s organizational strategy, developing the work program, selecting viable projects for presentation to investors, and ensuring the forum’s promotion and visibility both nationally and internationally.

Repositioning Niger as a prime investment destination
Beyond logistical organization, this initiative is integral to a broader political vision. The authorities of the Refondation aim to revitalize the national economy and firmly establish Niger as a strategic and preferred destination for private, regional, and international capital. The “Investir au Niger” forum thus stands as a crucial diplomatic-economic instrument within this ambitious agenda, especially as several countries in the region actively seek to diversify their economic partnerships.
The newly installed committee now faces the significant task of transforming this ambitious mandate into an event that lives up to the government’s high expectations, with just over four months remaining until the forum in November 2026.
