Psg faces rb leipzig resistance over yan diomandé transfer

The Yan Diomandé transfer saga has escalated in recent hours. The highly sought-after Ivory Coast winger, a standout at the World Cup, is reportedly keen on joining Paris Saint-Germain. However, RB Leipzig’s sporting director has made it clear the German club will not let him go easily.

After a brilliant start to the World Cup, building on his strong season with RB Leipzig, Yan Diomandé has attracted major interest. Although Liverpool had him as a top target, the Ivorian has apparently chosen PSG, putting him closer to a move to the reigning double European champions. Yet Marcel Schäfer, Leipzig’s sporting director, has dampened Parisian hopes.

Leipzig rejects PSG’s approaches for Diomandé

“Our intention is clear: Yan Diomandé will play for RB Leipzig next season. We will not compromise on that! We know his worth. Of course, if Yan continues this form, the time will come to let him take the next step, but not this year. In principle, he has a four-year contract and we hold the cards. These current developments are above all recognition of his performances. Nothing more, nothing less. And if we don’t find a solution, well, too bad—but he still has four years left on his deal. I repeat: Yan Diomandé will remain a Leipzig player,” Schäfer stated.

For his part, Yan Diomandé was far more evasive when asked about his future during a press conference: “You’re telling me. I don’t have internet, I don’t have Instagram, I don’t have TikTok. My agent handles talks with the club; I don’t have any information. I don’t want to talk about it, even with my agent, because playing in a World Cup is a once-in-four-years opportunity, so I must enjoy it. I want to make history with my country and give my best. My dream is to play for my country. I don’t have Instagram or TikTok anymore. I can’t see anything. I have an agent who will take care of the rest. For me, the most important thing is to stay focused on the World Cup and make history.”
