Coventry City, who earned promotion to the Premier League for the 2026–2027 campaign, have confirmed the permanent signing of Nigerian midfielder Frank Onyeka from Brentford.
The Nigeria international initially joined the Sky Blues on loan last January. His permanent switch from the Bees was officially triggered at the start of the summer transfer window. Onyeka played a crucial role in Frank Lampard’s side, helping them clinch the Sky Bet Championship title. He made 14 appearances and scored a spectacular goal in a decisive match against Derby County in April.
At 28, Onyeka boasts considerable Premier League experience, having played 75 top-flight matches during his stint with Brentford. The club has not revealed the length of the contract.
