Ayyoub Bouaddi transfer saga: PSG and Real Madrid chase young Moroccan talent

With the transfer window in full swing and the ongoing FIFA World Cup where he’s representing Morocco, Ayyoub Bouaddi has become the hottest property on the football market. The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has turned its attention to the 18-year-old sensation, sparking a wave of speculation about his future. While Lille’s board secured a contract extension until June 2029 in December, the club’s resolve appears to be crumbling under the weight of rival interest.

The marquee clubs—PSG, Arsenal, and Real Madrid—have all expressed serious interest in the young Moroccan international. Lille’s initial contract extension has done little to deter the ambitions of these European giants, with PSG currently believed to hold the pole position in the race to sign Bouaddi.

Giroud praises Bouaddi’s mental strength and potential

Former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, who has worked alongside Bouaddi at Lille this season, recently shared glowing remarks about the teenager’s character and abilities. Speaking from the broadcast booth, Giroud highlighted the young player’s composure and confidence: “His mindset is exceptional—he’s calm, self-assured, and never loses himself, even under pressure. He’s the kind of talent you want in your squad. Morocco is incredibly fortunate to have him.”

Real Madrid could be the next destination if he improves finishing

While PSG is actively pursuing Bouaddi, Giroud believes the Bernabéu could be his ultimate destination—provided he refines one key aspect of his game. “He’s already shown his quality in his first match, and he’s just 18 years old. Lille will struggle to keep him. He’s a complete player. The only area he needs to work on—something he’s aware of—is his finishing. If he becomes more clinical in front of goal, there’s no doubt he’ll be wearing the Real Madrid shirt next season.”
