Côte d’Ivoire: Dr Edouard Fonh-Gbéi receives top honor at Africa’s economy builders event
Abidjan, June 20, 2026 – Dr Edouard Fonh-Gbéi, Director-General of Côte d’Ivoire’s National Committee for Remote Sensing and Geographical Information (CNTIG), was honored on June 18 at the Africa’s Economy Builders Gala in Abidjan. The recognition, he emphasized, reflects not just his efforts but those of his entire team, whom he credits for driving the institution’s success.
« This award belongs to a dedicated team, a shared vision pursued with conviction, and relentless daily commitment, » Dr Fonh-Gbéi stated. He expressed deep gratitude to the organizers and partners whose support has been instrumental in advancing the CNTIG’s mission.
Appointed to lead the CNTIG in 2012 following an international call for applications, Dr Fonh-Gbéi brings over two decades of international experience as a geodetic engineer with a PhD in civil engineering, specializing in satellite geodesy. Under his leadership, the CNTIG has become a driving force in leveraging geoinformation technologies to support Côte d’Ivoire’s economic and territorial development.
« I accept this recognition with humility, seeing it as a call to aim even higher, with greater rigor and impact, » he added. « The best achievements are still ahead. »
The Africa’s Economy Builders Gala, established in 2006, is a premier platform dedicated to fostering a culture of excellence and merit in African entrepreneurship and business leadership.
