Gabon Poste app helps savers check names without travelling

On Tuesday, Gabon Poste’s director general, Alfred Ikaka Bobe, announced that a new application is now available for postal savers whose funds remain frozen. This tool allows them to verify whether their name appears on the lists compiled by the liquidator.

To check their name, users simply need to access the platform at https://www.ccp.laposte.ga from a computer or smartphone.

The platform launched last Monday and quickly became saturated after receiving approximately 10,000 visits within a few hours.

“The application has been updated and will be operational from this Wednesday,” Alfred Ikaka Bobe confirmed.

Savers are required to confirm that they are still alive. They can also specify the locality where they wish to receive their payment. The application is also available for savers residing abroad.

Only savers who have been properly registered by the liquidator but have unfortunately lost their passbook are asked to visit a post office to obtain a new one.

As a reminder, in 2017 PostBank SA, a subsidiary of Gabon Poste, collapsed, freezing the savings of many people. After countless broken promises from the ousted regime of Ali Bongo Ondimba, the transitional government signalled in February 2025 its commitment to settling this debt.

About 60,000 savers are affected. A total of 31.212 billion CFA francs has been pledged to clear the debt over three years, with a disbursement of one-third each year.
