His final season in Champagne was particularly impressive. The young goalkeeper recorded an astonishing 15 clean sheets across Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, the highest tally in both divisions combined. Reims’ announcement praised him as “one of the most promising goalkeeping talents in French football”.

His performances earned him his first call-up to the France Under-20 team, where observers noted his “reflex saves, composure on the ball, and remarkable maturity” despite his young age.

From loan spells to first-team breakthrough

Reims initially brought Jaouen into their professional setup in 2023. The following season saw him gain valuable experience through loans—first at Rodez, where he became the youngest goalkeeper to start a match in Europe’s top five leagues and their second divisions, and later at Dunkerque, where he helped the team reach the Coupe de France semi-finals.

A role model for young players

Beyond his contributions on the pitch, Jaouen dedicated time to coaching young players at AS Gueux. He regularly trained the youth teams and even stepped in to support local youth tournaments on weekends when his schedule allowed.
