Ousmane Sonko and PASTEF conclude extensive 48-hour Jolof tour, inaugurate Linguère headquarters

PASTEF-Les Patriotes has successfully concluded an impactful 48-hour political outreach across Senegal’s Jolof region. Party delegations traversed all 19 communes within the Linguère department, from Dahra to Barkédji, including Sagatta and Yang-Yang. This extensive field presence was led by party leader Ousmane Sonko, joined by Minister of State Habib Sy, alongside numerous national executives and coalition partners.

The tour served as a clear demonstration of the party’s robust local presence and influence. This deep engagement within the Jolof heartland featured courtesy visits and constructive dialogues with the region’s religious and traditional leaders. These interactions were complemented by strategic working sessions involving the party’s grassroots structures, encompassing youth, women, and executive members.

Territorial expansion and the new departmental headquarters

Following this significant mobilization effort, the local party chapters officially unveiled their strategic roadmap for the upcoming period. A pivotal moment of this extensive journey was the inauguration of PASTEF’s permanent departmental office, signaling the official commencement of the member card distribution campaign. The declared objective is to solidify the party’s territorial reach through dedicated, localized engagement within the department’s villages and neighborhoods.

A call for broad unity

Concurrently with this internal restructuring, local political leaders issued a solemn appeal for unity. This call for solidarity extends beyond long-standing activists and early sympathizers, reaching out to political figures from other organizations who are keen to align themselves with the party’s vision for regional development.
