In a spirited address, he unequivocally condemned the actions of the current President of the Republic, who had removed him from his position as Prime Minister just last May.

Addressing an enthusiastic audience, Ousmane Sonko highlighted a profound chasm between the foundational ideals that propelled the movement into power and the decisions now being made by the head of state. In a particularly resonant moment, he forcefully declared: « The Senegalese did not cast their votes for this. The Senegalese did not endure struggles for this outcome. Lives were not sacrificed for this cause. Individuals did not face imprisonment for this. The Senegalese people fought to fundamentally transform the system. Yet today, it is this very same system that resides in the palace, continuing to organize itself. »
