Transfert à 100 millions : une star de Premier League rêve de rejoindre le Barça
French forward Elie Junior Kroupi, a standout player for English club Bournemouth, harbors a profound desire to don the FC Barcelona jersey. He views a potential move to Camp Nou as the “dream of his life,” expressing immense excitement for what would be a pivotal career opportunity. The Catalan giants are reportedly poised to table an official bid, potentially reaching €100 million, to secure his services.
According to Spanish radio journalist Helena Condis, Kroupi is reportedly “very enthusiastic” about the prospect of joining Barça. Her reports indicate the 22-year-old’s desire is undeniable, suggesting he would be a significant acquisition should the Catalan club formalize an offer to Bournemouth.
While Kroupi remains focused on his pre-season preparations with Bournemouth, striving for peak physical condition ahead of the new campaign, he is acutely aware of the transfer speculation linking him with the Catalan club, which has dominated Spanish sports headlines recently.
FC Barcelona recently revitalized its alternative strategy for a pure number nine striker, following unsuccessful negotiations to sign Argentine star Julian Alvarez from Atlético Madrid. Despite this, Alvarez still remains the primary target to eventually replace Polish veteran Robert Lewandowski and lead the team’s attack for years to come.
Barça President Joan Laporta previously indicated that the offer made to Atlético Madrid for Alvarez was “not definitive” and would lapse between “late July and early August.” This timeline prompted Sporting Director Deco to actively seek a reliable alternative for German coach Hansi Flick, with Kroupi emerging as the prime candidate.
Catalan newspaper Sport reports that Barcelona’s management has been tracking the French attacker for an extended period. Despite internal discussions within the club’s offices, with some championing his talent and others questioning his immediate maturity, they are reportedly prepared to invest approximately €100 million to bring him from Bournemouth.
Bournemouth is unlikely to readily sanction the departure of their young star, especially given his exceptional performances last season. However, a transfer fee of such a colossal magnitude could significantly pave the way for his arrival at Camp Nou, particularly with the player’s clear desire to leave and his strong ambition to play for the Catalan club.
