Real Madrid poised to complete stunning Cucurella signing after 2026 World Cup
Real Madrid’s summer overhaul is gathering pace. Fresh off his re-election as club president, Florentino Pérez has wasted no time in revamping the team under new manager José Mourinho. Following Mourinho’s appointment, the club has ramped up its transfer activity.
Major signings lined up post-World Cup
A preliminary deal has been struck for Marc Cucurella’s transfer to Real Madrid, fulfilling Mourinho’s desire for a left-back reinforcement. The Spanish defender is expected to leave Chelsea, with the move likely to be confirmed after the 2026 World Cup. The transfer fee is anticipated to hover around €50 million.
Cucurella isn’t the only target. Bernardo Silva, out of contract at Manchester City, and Ibrahima Konaté, whose Liverpool contract is expiring, are also set to join the Spanish capital after the tournament. Dutch right-back Denzel Dumfries, currently at Inter Milan, is another prized addition in the pipeline.
