Senegal’s young football prodigy is finally back. After a lengthy recovery period, Amara Diouf has resumed training with Génération Foot, and his potential move to Turkish club Fenerbahçe is drawing closer.
The teenage striker made a huge impression during the 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria, which Senegal won. Named the tournament’s best player, he was widely regarded as one of the rising stars of African football.
According to Badara Sarr, the injury in no way diminished Diouf’s talent.
“He’s a boy with immense qualities. He can make a difference on the flanks, create danger, and score goals. His profile is very rare,” Sarr said.
The former Casa Sports coach also expressed optimism about the teenager’s likely transfer to Turkey.
“Fenerbahçe is a big challenge. It’s a demanding environment, but Amara has the mental strength to succeed. He just needs time to regain his best form,” he added.
When asked whether the young attacker could follow in the footsteps of Sadio Mané, Badara Sarr did not hide his confidence.
“He has the potential to build an exceptional career. Now, it all depends on his ability to stay injury-free and keep performing consistently,” Sarr concluded.
