Yariv Elbaz shifts focus from Moroccan milling to strategic defense sectors

A strategic transition for Yariv Elbaz

In a significant shift within the Moroccan industrial landscape, the national Competition Council authorized a major transaction in April 2026. Cap Holding, under the leadership of Chakib Alj, has successfully acquired a 68% share in Forafric Agro Holdings Limited. This company is a key subsidiary of Forafric Global, where Yariv Elbaz previously maintained a majority stake.

This divestment marks a turning point for Elbaz. After building a reputation in the financial sector and industrial milling, he is now redirecting his capital and influence toward more specialized and strategic domains. His new roadmap focuses heavily on artificial intelligence, unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), and air defense technology.

Throughout his career, Elbaz has operated at the nexus of business and high-level diplomacy, playing a pivotal role in the tripartite relations between Morocco, Israel, and the United States. While he remains a discreet figure, his move away from the food industry highlights a calculated pivot toward sectors that define modern security and technological sovereignty.
