As of June 20, 2026, the most notable advancement in the project is the near-completion of the bridge supports. The teams from CHINA HARBOUR ENGINEERING COMPANY CAMEROUN are intensifying their efforts to finalize the structure.
Beyond this progress, supplementary geotechnical studies are underway, while detailed execution designs have reached 60% completion. All twenty piles are finished, and the contractor has started work on the access road on the Bissombo side, including reinforcement of the headwalls for the culvert at PK 0+669, placement of replacement material after excavation at the culvert at PK 0+818, and crushing of 0/250 aggregates.
The project involves constructing a 90-metre bridge and 3 kilometres of access roads. Its completion will help structure the Assok to Ngombo axis in the Dja-et-Lobo department, southern region. The total estimated cost for the Dja bridge is 10,530,686,344 CFA francs including taxes.
In addition to the bridge, the access roads will be developed over 1,000 metres — 500 metres on each side — featuring a two-lane carriageway 7 metres wide with 1.5-metre shoulders surfaced with a double-layer surface dressing. The project also includes drainage structures: two culverts of type 2 x 2.00 x 1.50, two culverts of type 2 x 2.00 x 2.00, and construction of the access dike on the banks.
