“Given that traffic is already governed by strict laws, allowing Mio scooters to share bike lanes with smaller motorcycles seems entirely reasonable,” shares Ben Ouattara, a delivery rider who welcomes the change.
Mio scooters, known for their compact size, lightweight design, and low maintenance costs, have become a popular choice for urban commuters in Ouagadougou and beyond. For city authorities, this policy aims to ease congestion on main roads by redirecting some two-wheelers to designated bike lanes, thereby improving flow and fostering better coexistence among road users.
