At the national assembly of Cameroon, secretary general André Noël Essian oversaw the installation of over 20 high-ranking officials appointed by president Théodore Datouo.
Following the opening of the second ordinary session of the 2026 legislative year, secretary general André Noël Essian led the installation ceremony for more than 20 senior officials appointed by president Théodore Datouo.
These high-ranking officials were promoted to positions within the assembly’s accounts and general secretariat departments. Following the ceremony, they officially assumed their duties within the national representation.
Since his election as president of the national assembly in March, deputy Théodore Datouo has made numerous appointments. However, these appointments have not been universally welcomed by public opinion. Critics argue that the successor to Cavaye Yeguié Djibril has failed to uphold regional balance in his selections.
