King Mohammed VI delivers vocational training hub to Bamako

The Kingdom of Morocco has officially handed over the Mohammed VI Complex for Vocational Training in Bamako, a state-of-the-art facility designed to empower Mali’s youth with market-relevant skills. Built across 5,200 square meters on the outskirts of the Malian capital, this landmark project was conceived and executed by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sustainable Development as part of Morocco’s commitment to fostering African solidarity and shared progress.

A gateway to professional excellence

The complex, inaugurated under the directives of King Mohammed VI, represents a strategic investment in human capital development. With a capacity to train up to 1,000 young professionals annually, the facility offers 21 specialized programs across two core sectors: construction and public works, and hospitality, tourism, and catering. Each curriculum blends rigorous theoretical instruction with hands-on apprenticeships, ensuring graduates emerge job-ready with certified competencies aligned to industry demands.

Empowering Mali’s workforce

During the inauguration ceremony, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita emphasized that this initiative reflects Morocco’s dedication to Africa’s youth and its broader vision of South-South cooperation. “This project embodies the principles of solidarity, knowledge exchange, and sustainable human development that underpin our partnership with brotherly nations,” he stated. The complex is tailored to address critical skill gaps in Mali’s labor market, particularly in sectors vital to economic growth and social cohesion.

Mali’s Minister of National Entrepreneurship, Employment, and Vocational Training, Oumou Sall Seck, conveyed deep gratitude to King Mohammed VI on behalf of President Assimi Goita and the Malian people. She highlighted the facility’s strategic importance, noting that it directly supports Mali’s national development agenda by strengthening local expertise and fostering self-reliance in essential industries.
