General Saddam Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, arrived in Chad’s capital, N’Djamena, where he was received by President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno at the presidential palace.

During the meeting, both leaders exchanged views on pressing regional issues and explored avenues to enhance bilateral cooperation across multiple domains that serve the strategic interests of both nations.

The Libyan general emphasized the deep-rooted and historic fraternal bonds linking Libya and Chad. He reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening military and security collaboration to tackle shared threats, thereby fostering regional stability.

President Déby Itno, in turn, conveyed his strong appreciation for Field Marshal Khalifa Abou al-Qasim Haftar and the pivotal role played by the Libyan Arab Armed Forces in safeguarding security and stability within Libya. He noted how Libya’s internal stability positively influences broader regional security dynamics.
